The 2018 LaCrosse Upgrades Include Electric Motor
The 2018 LaCrosse upgrades are extensive, including powertrain electrification. Not only is this model smarter than previous model years, but it’s also more sophisticated. A quiet ride keeps you comfortable on the road, while a powerful yet efficient engine ensures you get optimum performance. Read on to learn what’s new on the 2018 Buick LaCrosse.
According to Buick, this model has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that will be paired with a small electric motor called the eAssist system. This improves fuel economy by up to 19 percent, while also providing torque-assist launch, energy regeneration, and seamless start/stop technology. This system also improves torque by over 9 percent.
“Executing innovative technologies in an approachable and meaningful way is core to Buick,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president, Global Buick and GMC. “By adding the eAssist system to the LaCrosse, our technology flagship, we are making electrification accessible to our customers as we chart our course to the future of mobility.”
In addition to power and fuel economy improvements, this new powertrain design will still come with available all-wheel drive and be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. There is an optional 3.6-liter V6 for those who prefer classic gasoline designs. For more information about these major changes to the LaCrosse, visit Bill Walsh Streator today.
